The MicroDAO Vision
We envision a world where everyone, regardless of location, gender, or status, has access to effective antimicrobial treatments.
By building the world's largest decentralised network of researchers, clinicians, and innovators, and developing tools for surveillance, decision making, and discovery, we are laying the foundation for lasting global defence against AMR. Our model connects data, innovation, and clinical impact, powered by sustainable funding and a continuously regenerating ecosystem of next generation solutions.
Our Approach
We prioritise strong scientific validation and data practices that support collaboration across disciplines, driving the development of new antimicrobials, vaccines, and diagnostics within a transparent and sustainable innovation ecosystem.
By building tools that connect surveillance, discovery, and clinical use, we ensure data is quickly turned into practical solutions. At the centre of this work is a global community of researchers, clinicians, and innovators working together to accelerate progress and share knowledge in real time.
Decentralised Collaboration
Bringing together experts across sectors and geographies to share data, insights, and solutions in real time, accelerating the development of new antimicrobials, vaccines, and diagnostics.
Innovative Data Analysis and Use
Developing and deploying advanced tools through our marketplace to monitor and track resistance patterns globally, ensuring that interventions are evidence-based and adaptable.
Sustainable Funding
Our ecosystem is designed to be self-sustaining. Revenues generated through licensing, data services, and tokenised incentives from our projects are reinvested to fund new tools, projects, and partnerships, eliminating dependence on short-term funding cycles.
Global Access
We commit to making all MicroDAO-supported innovations globally accessible, especially in low- and middle-income settings where the burden of AMR is often highest.

Varun Kothamachu
Varun is a life science product specialist combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Driven by lessons from the pandemic and pharma’s retreat from antibiotics, he is leveraging his PhD research in microbial signalling, community-building background (DIYBio/synbio), and DAO organisational structures to fund innovation into solutions for AMR

Francesca Chiara
Francesca has over a decade of experience in antimicrobial resistance and policy advocacy. She has worked with leading international organisations managing research portfolios and driving impactful collaborations. Francesca brings a strong interdisciplinary approach to AMR governance, health system strengthening, and access to medicines.

Manu Areraa
Manu, a full-stack developer specialising in blockchain development, has five years of experience developing prototypes for early-stage startups and an undergrad student in computer science.

Ishaan Chadha
Born and raised in Bangalore, with a deep interest towards coding and technology. He is extremely passionate about using computer science and its benefits to help the world and make a lasting impact.

Firas Javid
Firas, originally from Kashmir, India. Born and raised in Kuwait. A curious full-stack developer currently living in Mumbai, and sees computer science as a mindset for solving problems and exploring ideas. Enjoys learning new things, building cool stuff, and tackling challenges that have purpose.

Farraz Mir
Farraz is a biotech grad who can’t sit still. He enjoys exploring the intersection of biology, CS, and venture capital, and believes a little curiosity (plus good coffee) can push biotech into unexpected places. When he is not prototyping the next biotech tool, you’ll find him pondering how our world is evolving toward a techno-optimist society, and is in awe of where it could take us.

Mohit Sharma
Undergrad student, with a background in computer vision, multi-modality research ML systems. Curious about bio-ml and solving novel problems.
