Our Focus Areas

At MicroDAO.bio, we’re building a new kind of community to take on one of the world’s biggest health challenges: antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Through a mix of in-house projects and community-backed initiatives, we focus on three core areas where we believe open collaboration can make the biggest difference.

Each project we support—whether developed by MicroDAO or by members of the broader community must contribute to one or more of these focus areas.

Predict & Validate

Projects in this focus area work on tools that help us see AMR threats before they become major problems. This includes building and supporting AI models, datasets, and platforms that use genomic, clinical, and environmental data to spot early signs of resistance. They also validate these predictions in the lab or through fieldwork, making sure they hold up in the real world.

Prevent

This area focusses on stopping resistance from taking hold in the first place. That means supporting projects that promote smarter antibiotic use, infection control, and behavior change—alongside the tools and systems that help put those ideas into practice. We’re building and funding solutions that are practical, scalable, and rooted in real-world needs.

Cure Incidence

When resistance is already a problem, we aim to help fix it. This includes accelerating the development of new treatments, diagnostics, and vaccines, as well as tools that help guide smart, cost-effective decisions in healthcare systems. Whether we’re building internally or backing external teams, the goal is the same: help restore the power of medicine to save lives.

Bring Your Idea to Life
